We are a full custom shop able to go from nothing to a full production often in less than a day. From podcasts, shows, junkets, films, interviews and more, we are always ready to go! Just a room? Got it. Full crew? Got it too.
Super Bowl QB Vince Ferragamo and Hall of Famer Jackie Slater produced a wide variety of NFL sports coverage taking advantage of the desk, lighting, multi-cams, remote guests and the interactive tv for game analysis. High end features included comms, talkback (IFB), viewing monitors and live editing for fast posting.

Hosting volleyball legends Holly McPeak and Madison Fitzpatrick for the host feed for the PVF 2024 Pro Volleyball Federation draft, we tied our multi-camera feed into a production managed 1500 miles away with additional feeds from all team franchises. We utilized our broadcast desk, hardware and software switches, in-ear (IFB) monitors and much more to provide non-stop coverage. Another world-class event and we had a blast!

We engineered and locally produced movie legend Vince Vaughn for the New York Times podcast entitled The Interview.
We provided a live feed, producer feed and monitor feed for Vince’s team, as well as local recording mastered and delivered minutes after the conclusion of the production.

We were the host/DP for Tom and Christina’s trip to LA for tapings of Your Mom’s House as they brought their irreverent stylings to Manhattan Beach Studios.
MBS hit the production with 5 cams, Shure SM7DB mics, a custom projection, and tons of video in amazing couple of days with the team of Josh and Enny from YMH Studios.

We covered sound and picture consulting along with field recording the great Deepak Chopra as part of a documentary shoot. It was a true run-and-gun shoot with a limited amount of time to get setup, grab the footage, and move along. We addressed this with a highly portable setup with dual Aputure 300d lights and lanterns for a magical (and for us, lifechanging) shoot.

Hosting a SLEW of Olympians, we brought ESPN-style coverage with five cameras, live interviews, IMAG (20′ LED Screen), and a custom scoreboard to the beach for an awesome day of coverage.
We are able to do a lot with a little and we ran this particular inaugural production with a team of six people. We worked hard but hit the sand running and brought this amazing event to the big screen as well as thousands of live viewers.

MBS is pleased to be able to participate in the LA tapings for Screenrant: Debunking AI where we have had the great pleasure to work with their production team and actors such as Tim Miller (among others). These are awesome, fun and super entertaining.

We took on BW OWN with the Oprah Winfrey Network team. We worked to utilize 22 independent zoom connections for a wide variety of looks, guests, audience gallery and individual questions and participation. This production was among the first of its kind and we were thrilled to be a part of this incredible production.

MBS brought it’s live broadcast skills along with multiple cameras, sound, titles, graphics and more to a wedding broadcast to thousands of friends, family, colleagues and probably outside guests on Twitch. The wedding had fun speeches, beautiful decor and even a full flash mob dance. We even put wireless transmitters on two of the videographer’s cameras for additional angles. Live is so powerful and awesome and we are pleased to bring it to events such as this!

Working with viral talent host Rahmel Dockery and guest hosts Malcolm Jenkins and Golden Tate we supported this amazingly fun Overtime TV production sponsored by GMAC. We used three cameras, remote feeds, desktop microphones with backup audio and more to produce this hilariously engaging weekly production.

Street Racing Kills used our turnkey-broadcast set without the desk and with the addition of a living room set and custom colors and graphics. We utilized beautiful movement and emotion with camera moves and slider automation, changing graphics live for immersive storytelling.

With the stage, every day is different. One of the fun things we do is to work with a variety of exercise clients as we bring multiple cameras, live edits and a whole lot of activity into the stage. Projects such as this range from live to live cutting to detailed edits and we tailor our work for each. In this case, we utilized multiple fitness professionals, a remote producer and lighting/color changes to enhance the action for this amazing final piece.

The Dell/Avatar video project was a three day shoot as Dell sought to demonstrate how Avatar utilized its technology. We supported this project in a variety of ways, from hosting setup and the third day of shooting with three unique sets, to line production, and local project coordination. The final product was incredible and we were thrilled to be a part of this awesome project.
We had the privilege of producing the first ever TikTok live – in a world before vertical video, working closely with TikTok headquarters, we brought a five cam setup with Steadi-Cam, crane and fixed positions, we brought the full game for this influencer-induced concert and fashion show. This was incredible fun a moment of great pride for all of us.

For Canon and Explorer of Light Peter Read Miller, we wrote, directed and produce the intro/review video of the Canon 1200mm lens. We shot fast and delivered with production in studio, and at several locations.

The In The Garage Podcast from Carparts.com brought together some incredible personalities and car experts to chat about cars. From monster cars to high speed racers, this was the podcast to get to know some of the top players in the automotive industry. We set up a clean, bright and vibrant set, used a teleprompter, and our favorite am radio microphones to put this project together.

GG Poker brought a wild production to The Interview Stage at Manhattan Beach Studios as we hosted Norman Chad and Lon McEachern as they provided commentary on the Vegas gameplay, combining graphics from South Korea with a complete three location live stream broadcast. We utilized a collection of technologies to make this work, including in particular, green screen, SRT video transmission and comms to make this a seamless broadcast.

We had the chance to document Shameless actress Kate Miner’s personal story for an AR exhibit – utilizing angles, reflections and lens choices which are not traditional, we created a larger than life exhibit which provided discussion and education with this unique approach. We love Kate and it was amazing have the opportunity to work with her on this incredible project.

We provided the location and production team for an interview episode of Basketball Wives with Jackie Christie and Brittany Renner done here in town to coincide with another production team. We worked together to produce an episode as well as footage covering the taping of the episode. In this case, we were brought in just one day before taping and had this recorded, live cut and delivered within 20 minutes following completion of the recording.

The UCLA sports conference, held at Pauley Pavilion was remarkable in the sense of utilizing a four camera live production and feeding video and graphics to large scoreboards overhead. We handled these two functions with a team of five people, remote PTZ cameras and weeks of preparation as we brought this event to thousands of remote viewers.

Back on the broadcast stage – but from another angle – Anthony Hamilton Jr and Chris Hayes brought us some awesomeness in their debut episode of their new format. Other episodes featured Mouthpiece, Cosine and the Professor.

There is nothing like covering the world #1 boxing champion Seniesa Estrada as she continues undefeated to defend her belt. This quick-turnaround project was for national broadcast in the leadup to the fight. We included footage of Seniesa in her training facility in East LA, coverage from fights, and interview in this 24 hour project.

As one of the hosting locations for ABC’s Year-End-In-Review, we worked closely with the network crew on the staging, set and lighting, along with their hosts and multiple looks, we are pleased to have the opportunity to share our stage with the world!

In a campaign seen by millions, we wrote and directed the Know-to-Say-Know awareness campaign to educate children about the risk of human trafficking. We produced a series of seven videos, seven verticals, sizzles and short forms and watched the campaign find its way to bus stops, billboards and thousands of schools.

Our friend and comedian James Tomlin popped by for a few days of show taping (3 episodes per day) with awesome comedians and a kick butt interview show. We look forward to amazing things as this all takes off.

In another wildly interesting day, we supported the casting of Bob Marley in the movie One Love as Kingsley Ben-Adir came by for a few hours in which we, Bob Marley fans, felt like we were in the presence of the OG. The specially made wig made the transformation nearly perfect.

Images, banners and screens featured the photography of MBS’ Mark Nicholas through a wide variety of product launches and deliciously tasty ad campaign photography. Utilizing specialty lenses, light, backdrops and decades of experience we made avocado and bowls visually tastier than ever.

We have worked with many independent films through the years. James Velasquez’ The Teleprompter showcased every corner of our stage from both main stages to the green room, kitchen and periphery. It’s always fun to see projects succeed and support them however we can.

Two days with Mark joining Meg Donnelly, Zac Downtown, Shock G (Humpty Hump) and world class choreographers Trevor Tordjman and Jordan Clark, for awesome BTS and a super cool 360 VR experience with Meg for her single Bust-A-Left made for a world class day with content viewed by millions!

We had the privilege of participating in the launch of Bird Scooter’s latest brand with a shoot through the streets of Los Angeles. We used a variety of tools from stabilizers to drones, probe lenses, sliders and a wide variety of cameras to grab different looks as we moved quickly to capture some awesome footage.

We shot 80 suits, front, back and features along with lifestyle images in an insane 4 hour window with world class model Karina Valeshnaya. The goal was to capture some light and depth to allow Karina to pop off the screen to help Manhattan Peach define its look and brand showcasing their really awesome product. We loved this super fun day!

With nearly 200,000 images, we photographed tons of SKUs with masking, shadows, multiple export sizes, indexing and much more as we built content for their website, e-commerce marketing and packaging, along with video BTS and more. We utilized a 10′ turntable for product angles along with a Studio Titan camera stand to pick up looks and angles with nearly instant adjustments.

We worked closely with Kimberly Stuckwisch & Nelson De Castro in designing a system to build rotoscoped plates, outline and laser cut nearly 4,600 cards as layered frames for the Broken Bells’ music video Good Luck. The cuts, combined with light and haze created a beyond-worldly effect. This video won a variety of amazing awards and we were thrilled to play such an important role.

We produced a full length concert recital utilizing multiple cameras, a full audio kit and an amazing day of production to put a resume piece together which would be used as a jumping off point for a career. We utilized a crane, Steadicam and multiple cameras as well as a remote producer and live edit. This was honestly one of our most favorite days.

We worked with the leading retail security company, WG Securities, in developing educational material as well as an industry tour of new tech. We used a first-person fly-through drone experience as well as an interview to offer the complete experience. This was a wild overnight shoot and we were thrilled with the final product.

Second Chances is a comedic talk show, with Guest Stars such as Kristen Doute, that gave commentary on a reality dating show that had contestants from the Bachelor and Bachelorette, Vanderpump Rules, and other known reality shows.
Although our automation allowed a minimal number of distractions, our core add-on was the live switched video to the rear screen and camera live cutting.

In a project that fell into our laps, we (Nic Putnam, editor) and I (Mark Nicholas, sound and color) assembled a huge collection of footage into a documentary about Michael Chambers (Turbo/Boogaloo Shrimp) and the birth of a new art form.

Friend of the studio Elliott Lurie (Looking Glass and Writer of Brandy (You’re a Fine Girl) returned for another performance in 2024 and we taped and broadcast the event. Presenting his repertoire, Elliot gave us an incredibly intimate show which will be remembered forever!

We were hired by CBS (KPIX) to develop two VR experiences which – the Emmy-Award winning Carnaval Parade and Stern Grove Concert Series as we highlighted the magic of this incredible venue. We cut this like a true news story/movie experience with footage from the audience, forest, walk-in and stage. This is among our favorite specialized techniques.

Our fav Chef Geech came by to film an episode of his awesome show. Written, recorded, produced and edited just days after the weekend, The Chef is among our most favorites. We look forward to an incredible 2025-2026 season as we see what he can cook up from our stage.
Our friends at KinoFlo rocked Manhattan Beach Studios as they assembled an amazing light show to highlight their release of the Diva lights. This was a world class team and it was our great pleasure to host them and see what they have created!
We have been blessed to work with Jordan and Salish for a few years and love being a hometown studio for these two viral sensations! We shot and assembled a virtual tour of the iconic Wayfarer Chapel before it was deconstructed due to land movement on the Palos Verdes Peninsula. Our intent was to bring this amazing location to the world for tours and access and we had no idea at the time that it would be taken down shortly thereafter. We are very proud to have had the chance to preserve at least on some sense this amazing structure in its original location forever.

With a stage built with custom color lighting, accents, projection gobos, teleprompters and great fun we work on a large number of corporate projects. For Orbotic Systems we participated in a money-raising campaign video for a product designed to bring satellites out of orbit safely and efficiently.
